In 2014, we escaped the hectic, corporate, traditional life that we thought we were supposed to live. Everyone we've ever known and everything we've ever been told:
Go to college, get a job, get married, have kids, move to the suburbs and then die!
We almost made it. We did. We even had the house in the suburbs. But it didn't feel right. We had everything we had aspired for but something was missing. We wanted more.
No, not material things. Those things fill a house, but they don't fill a heart. We wanted experiences. We wanted to raise our children differently. We wanted to show them there is more to this world than our little neighborhood.
For almost eight years, we have been LIVING in other countries, not just traveling from place to place once we've "done a country." We have been teaching our children through life experiences and through the eyes of other cultures. They now speak more languages than we do!
